Taipei, Taiwan, June 5, 2008–BenQ today outlined its product roadmap and strategy for Asia Pacific and Middle East, showing its new 16:9 Full HD LCD monitor series, Projectors with cutting-edge short-throw and brightness technologies, and Joybook laptops with innovative industrial design and enhanced performance. The company also demoed for the first time some of the key products to be launched during the coming quarter.

Speaking at an event for its regional channel partners and the media, BenQ Asia Pacific Corp. president Adrian Chang said,"The rapid growth in the availability of multimedia content and the importance of user sensory enjoyment is reshaping the consumer electronics business. As a leading provider of networked digital lifestyle devices, BenQ is committed to delivering the best display and convergence technologies. Our new offerings demonstrate how we are creating devices that better suit consumers' dynamic and varied lifestyles."

LCD Monitors with 16:9 Full HD support

BenQ's new lineup of 16:9 LCD monitors—encompassing the M, E, and G series—come with native Full HD resolution and are available in three sizes: 24", 22", and 19"—all with widescreen aspect ratios.

The E2200HD is the world's first 1080P Full HD in the 22" widescreen LCD monitor segment. The E900HD and G900HD feature the latest dual-lamp LCD panel, and consumes only two-thirds the power of conventional 19" wide LCD monitors. The M and E series are equipped with an HDMI 1.3 interface, 10000:1 DCR (Dynamic Contrast Ratio), built-in speakers, and BenQ's exclusive senseye+photo technologies. The G series provides 10000:1 DCR (Dynamic Contrast Ratio), along with senseye+photo technologies.

Projectors with cutting-edge short throw and brightness technologies

The MP512 ST and MP522 ST, which make up BenQ's new short-throw projector series, deliver larger pictures at shorter distances. Each projector uses a unique aspherical lens to achieve this capability, without compromising picture quality. Carefully chosen features additionally distinguish each model as ideal solutions for schools, businesses, and gaming/home entertainment. By overcoming space limitations, BenQ's MP Short-Throw projector series also brings greater user convenience and the possibility of projector use in almost any location.

The SP920 sports an ultra-high 6000 ANSI lumens of brightness and the latest picture-enhancing technologies, including a Texas Instruments DLP chip and BrilliantColor™ processing, OSRAM's UNISHAPE™ lamp illumination technology, and BenQ's proprietary 3D Color Management system and unique dual-lamp design.

Joybook laptops with innovative industrial design and enhanced performance

The housings for the Joybook S42, S33 and S33w laptops are molded with exclusive Laminated Color Metal (LCM) technology, imprinting them with a distinctive Victorian-style vine motif, successfully demonstrating their stylish design approach.

Powered by the latest Intel® Centrino® 2 Duo processors, the new Joybook S42 is equipped with other advanced technologies, including an UltraVivid LED display, nVIDIA GeForece 9600M GT discrete graphics, and SRS TruSurround XT and SRS TruBass audio. Boosted further by BenQ's Hybrid Power technology, the Joybook S42 enables users to easily enjoy superb display performance while maximizing battery life.
